Peace Of Mind -10 Rules

1. Do not interfere in others' business
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic, and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction.
This kind of attitude on our part denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God, for God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because they are prompted to do so by the Divine within them. There is God to look after everything. Why are you bothered? Mind your own business and you will have your peace.
2. Forget and forgive
This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often nurture ill feeling inside our heart for the person who insults or harms us. We forget that the insult or injury was done to us once but by nourishing the grievance we go on excavating the wound forever. Therefore it is essential that we cultivate the art of forgiving and forgetting. Believe in the justice of God and the doctrine of Karma. Let Him judge the act of the one who insulted you. Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forget, forgive, and march on.
3. Do not crave for recognition
This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motive. They may praise you today because you are rich and have power but no sooner you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and start criticizing you.
Moreover, no one is perfect. Then why do you value the words of praise of another mortal like you? Why do you crave for recognition? Believe in yourself. People's praises do not last long. Do your duties ethically and sincerely and leave the rest to God.
4. Do not be jealous
We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know you work harder than your colleagues in the office but they get promotions, you do not. You started a business several years ago but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old. Should you be jealous? No, remember everybody's life is shaped by his previous Karma that has now become his destiny. If you are destined to be rich, not all the world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere, but will only give you restlessness.
5. Change yourself according to the environment
If you try to change the environment single handedly, the chances are you may fail. Instead, change yourself to suit the environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has remained unfriendly for you, will mysteriously appear to be congenial and harmonious.
6. Endure what cannot be cured
This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations and accidents that are beyond our control. We must learn to endure them cheerfully thinking, "God will it so, so be it". God's logic is beyond our comprehension. Believe it and you will gain in patience, in inner strength, in will power.
7. Do not bite more than you can chew
This maxim should be always remembered. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable to carry out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. Spend your free time on prayers, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind, which make you restless. Fewer the thoughts, greater is the peace of mind.
8. Meditate regularly
Meditation makes the mind thoughtless. This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour every day, you will tend to become calm during the remaining twenty-three and a half hours. Your mind will not be disturbed as much as before. This will increase your efficiency and you will turn out more work in less time.
9. Never leave the mind vacant
An empty mind is devil's workshop. All evil deeds start in the mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile. Actively follow a hobby. You must decide what you value more - money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social work may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even if you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name (japa).
10. Do not procrastinate and never regret
Do not waste time in wondering "should I or shouldn't I?" Days, weeks, months and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Always remember God has His own plan too. Value your time and do things. It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can rectify your mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes but do not brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET! Whatever happened was destined to happen only that way. Take it as the will of God. You do not have the power to alter the course of God's will. Why cry?
May God help you remain at peace
With yourself and the world

Preparation:

1 tbsp of organic local honey
1 tsp of organic cinnamon
To make it simple: One part cinnamon and two parts honey is what is required for this recipe.
Instructions:
Put the cinnamon in a  bowl
Boil 1 cup of water
Pour the hot water over the cinnamon
Steep for 15 minutes
Add honey to the cooled liquid
Always add honey to the cooled liquid – hot liquid will destroy the enzymes in the raw honey.

Feeding Tips for Moms

For all mums of fussy eaters, I have tried out some tips to provide additional nutrition in the same food they normally eat in small quantities.(applies mainly to 2-5 yr olds)
1. Never make palin IDLI(rice cake) - mix grated carrot , broccoli, cheese, spinach, ltl salt n chilli pwd, cashew nut pieces. this not only makes idlis colorfull but also provides vegies they need and makes it interesting n tastes great. I call them rainbow idli.same can be done with dosa.
2.try this with chapati, roti or Dosa- On the already fried side put egg yolk and fry so it should look like omlett from one side and chapati/dosa the other.if they eat 1 whole thing.it like 1 egg n 1 chapati..but.same effort to feed.
3. when feeding, one for you one for me trick works some times.may be one for daddy if it gets monatonous.
4. Noodles -- kids luv them for some reason, so addin frozen mixed vegies to instant noodles or pasta.(always have no
odle packs n frozen vegies handy for those tired days)
5. Milk-- have few flavour that have colors..i call them pink milk , yellow milk and brown milk..if you know they might refuse milk, ask "which color would you like today>?". have colored straws at home and match straws to their dress color just to make it interesting.
6. chocolate- who doesnt love it??yummm.....have nut centred choc balls handy. Costco has got soem really good stuff(almond/peanut/macademia centered).they eat nuts along with chocs.
7. Bread- it good for kids. multi vitamin soft bread.. have cheese, choc spread and peanut butter handy. ask them what they want on bread that day. giving them a choice of variety makes them to choose one. it work 9 out of 10 times.
8.making feed time play time. try play with them while feeding, with toys infront of them.( mu daughter has a piggy toy which she lieks to feed along)
9. a small bribe like handing over choc/lollie only to let them eat after they finish whts on the plate. works soemtimes.when buying jelly/lollies get multi vit variety.
10. As experts say before you give up try atleast 10 to 15 times. if they dont like it today they might like it tommorow. kids changes mind more than we do...
HAPPY FEEDING MUMS . LET ME KNOW IF ANY ONE OF THE ABOVE WORKS FOR YOU. AND PLEASE COMMENT WITH YOUR IDEAS THAT YOU HAVE BEEN USING:)

Dieting Fundamentals

**Many women grumble about weight loss that it is one of the most distressing and strenuous things to do. Contrary to the popular belief, losing weight is quite an easy task if one is aware of the dieting basics. It s simple – keep a check on calorie intake. The key to weight loss is burning more calories than consuming. Simply put, one should start exercising more and stop eating junk – sugar, red meat, soda, cheese, to name a few.

**Eating fruits and vegetables is a healthy choice, recommended by many dieticians. Indeed it is. But in order to maintain a nutritional balance, the body also requires dairy products and meat which are downright neglected by many women. Yes, cheese, butter and chicken wings add a few more inches to the waistline. However, some dairy and meat products are not only healthy, but also add no extra flab to the body.

**Switch red meats with white meat poultry, fish and egg whites. Fish is an excellent source of protein and omega 3 fatty acids and contains least amount of calories – definitely a better choice than other meats. White meat and egg whites are rich in protein and protect us against cardiovascular diseases. All these are low in fat and sugar, and contain essential nutrients.

**When cooking, one should stick to grilling and baking rather than frying which adds calories to the food. Cooking in oil, ghee or butter also increases the amount of calorie; hence, one must eat her vegetables and fruits raw or boiled. One should drink vegetable juices whenever possible and avoid fruit juices strictly because fruits are most beneficial when eaten whole.

**Spinach, beetroot, cucumber, gourd (louki), broccoli, cabbage, strawberries, apples, oranges, papaya, pomegranate, watermelon and guavas should be included in the diet. They are all rich in fiber, antioxidants, and minerals and provide adequate nutrients. Dalia is good option for breakfast. A glass of low fat milk and a cup of curd must be included in daily diet.

**Never eat upto the point where the stomach begins to feel full because stuffing isn t the right approach. Get rid of the old routine – breakfast, lunch and dinner and split them in five to six meals a day. As the food portions are reduced, one steers clear of overeating. Saturated fats, Tran’s fats and sugar are the main culprits, try and stay away from them. Switch sugar with honey and fats with protein and water. These two give a feeling of being full and curb appetite.

**Speaking of appetite, don t starve. Eat whenever hunger strikes, just choose a healthy snack over a cheesy one. Body burns more calories when the stomach is full. If it s full with calories, it will burn only the calories in the stomach and if it s full with protein and minerals, it will burn calories that are accumulated in different parts of the body. Exercising is just as important as eating right. Yoga, cardio, weights or even strenuous household chores, anything will do as long as it helps burn calories.
